General FAQ
Currently, there is no restriction on the length of a trip.
We actually would be able to offer a discount for trips that are longer than 2-weeks.

We currently only operate in Eugene, Oregon. All of our finished trailers are arranged for pickup by the new owner, or are shipped with a third-party service upon completion.
All of our Rental models are picked up and dropped off at our shop location off of West 11th Ave, in Eugene, Oregon.
We currently aren’t allowing for people to use, borrow, or franchise any part of the Oregon Trail’R Brand. We’re a small business that keeps a great level of quality in the work we do. To expand beyond what’s reasonable for us as a small business would only change the perfected formula we have today. While we appreciate any and all forms of inquiry about becoming a dealer, we currently have no plans to develop dealerships outside of our own shop in Eugene, OR.
Unfortunately, not at this point in time. Our only location is in Eugene, Oregon. On the north side of West 11th Ave. Unit J. 97402.
*All rentals are picked up at our main location starting at 10am the morning of the first day of the booking.
*All rentals must be dropped off at our main location no later than 3pm on the last day of the booking.
We have plans to expand our rental program in the coming years. Stay tuned 🙂
We don’t.
But what we would recommend is using a third-party shipping service like “UShip.com.”
All of our clients that need to arrange for the shipping of a completed trailer have either used their services, or another service from a similar provider.
*It would be wise to look into the legal requirements around ‘License Plates’ in the states you plan to cross in the process of towing it home. As well as the third-party shipper fees surrounding the aspect of crossing an international border. This will vary per state and per shipper service.
Currently, none of our models come equipped with a heater or an air-conditioner.
The insulation we use within the body of the trailer has a very good R-value to weight-ratio. In other words, our cabins stay very warm in the winter, and nice and cool in the summers, without weighing down the trailer. You’ll be surprised how comfortable the cabin can be with the natural heat of 1-2 people.
We would recommend getting a quality electric blanket that plugs into a duplex outlet (110v). 12V socket, or USB connection. .
TDA, FT, and FTA all get a duplex outlet included in the cabin as apart of all of the configurations.
DoDrop and DoDrop ALPHA, with the 2 types of electrical systems we offer, would be best suited for an electric blanket that is USB or 12V.
Once you’re satisfied with the way you’ve configured your trailer with our automatic quote tool, submit it to us with the prompts at the end of the web page. Fill out as many as you’d like to get an idea of the pricing. The quote you’re most satisfied with after your submission is the one we’ll keep on file for you. So play around! Build it the way you’d like!
You’ll get a copy sent to the email you provided to us and a confirmation message that will explain that the price of your quote will be valid for 30 days from the date of it’s submission .
***It is very important to make contact with us via email and or phone in that 30-day window.*** After speaking/emailing with you about your quote we’re ready for the next step! Lead times WILL vary depending on the time of year. Currently we’re looking at an average lead time of about 1 year to 14 months. Which is why it is important we speak with you and ‘Lock-in’ your quote as a confirmed Trail’R build. If we don’t hear from you within that 30-day window, we cannot guarantee the price in which you were quoted. Reminder- Quotes expire after 30-days!
The next and final step required to ‘Lock-in’ your quote after speaking with us is to put down the ‘Initial deposit’ of 45%.
Once all parties have agreed, and the paperwork has been signed, and the initial deposit has cleared- all there’s left is time. It’s the right time to soak up what’s left of your favorite old ground tent and find a good home for it in storage 😉
Once we’re done with your trailer, we guarantee you won’t want to use that old tent anymore 🙂
30-days from the date of it’s submission.
Please get in contact with us in that 30-day window to have us move forward with your trailer build.
We currently do not offer any kind of refrigerator.
We find that it’s best to keep a good quality cooler or refrigerator separate from the trailer body. In our opinion – (Compared to what’s on the market nowadays) – we would rather offer our clients more interior and exterior storage space , and less draw on their battery, than try to compete with the likes of giants like Dometic, Igloo, and all of the other big brand‘s out there.
***Do consider the power supply when choosing a refrigerator.*** If you plan on using your trailer’s battery to keep it chilled during your whole trip, you may want to consider looking into an Inverter, a portable power station, or a larger capacity battery – (perhaps Lithium). The continuous draw of the fridge may effect the lifespan of your battery more than expected.
Our pricing, like most manufacturers, will fluctuate throughout the year due to many circumstances out of our control. This includes domestic and international shipping and logistics, international trade and the production of materials, and the general volatility of material costs both domestic and international.
We do our best to provide accurate and affordable pricing as best we can. But we also DO NOT cut corners or make sacrifices on our quality of materials. The models we make are built with the finest materials we can possibly source. From the woods we use, to the stainless steels we use, or the coatings we apply, all of it is top-notch. We strive for this level of quality so that the trailer you buy now outlives you and beyond- (It will probably outlive your kids’ kids’ kids) 🙂
Starting prices as of December 2022:
DoDrop BASE configuration – $8500
DoDrop ALPHA BASE configuration – $13,250

***Most of our trailers, if equipped with ‘all the fixings’, usually average around double the starting price.***
While we love a good DIY spirit – DIY isn’t a team sport 🙂

We’ve been a long running partner of Lippert Components Incorporated for the manufacturing of our Custom Mattresses.
We use a 4″ thick, quilted, pillow-top, high-density foam mattress. It’s undoubtedly proven its value over the past years, 10 years running.
**BE AWARE WE HAVE 2 STYLES OF MATTRESS: READ BELOW**
***When “Cargo Management” is elected – the mattress comes as a split mattress that stacks neatly in the cabin. Allowing for cargo storage straps (E-track type).
****When “Cargo Management” is NOT elected – the mattress comes as a full single mattress. Fitting very well within the cabin footprint profile.
If you would prefer to have us make something more specific to your needs, let us know in the ‘Special Requests‘ section of our quote form tool.
Every mattress, either an Oregon Trail’R brand or otherwise, is American-Made local here in Eugene, Oregon.
In the past, we have. (Many moons ago).
In our experience, and in accordance with the varying skill levels of all DIYers alike, we’ve found it to be best to do all of the manufacturing in-house. The shipping was very expensive, the instruction manual(s) were quite a bit more advanced than even IKEA manuals tend to be, and the overall probability of risk for us was too high. For these reasons, and more, we decided to stop selling Kits.
If you’d like to talk shop and tour our showroom – we’d be glad to see you!
Please set up an appointment by calling 541-357-8895
Yes. Yes. And unfortunately yes – but not by much or very often.
When you submit your quote for an Oregon Trail’R it locks in that specific price for 30-days. We have that rule because unfortunately, as the market changes, so must we.
We try our hardest to retain our superior quality while finding ways to reduce costs. It’s a challenge – but we love a good challenge 😉
It’s always possible, but the level of difficulty can vary dramatically for a variety of reasons. For more recently built models, you may have locator pockets built in, which make it relatively easy to retrofit. For other models it can be very challenging to get right.
Sadly, No we will not.
We will gladly install them onto new Oregon Trailers that have ordered them.
But as far as pre-owned trailers go, it’s an endeavor that would take too much time away from the clients we have waiting for their new trailers.

We’ve had clients that live in Canada purchase a trailer from us and are now VERY happy owners of an Oregon Trail’R – however, they arranged the shipping themselves. We have no restrictions on where an Oregon Trail’R is purchased from, but we do not provide any kind of shipping service. Clients typically arrange this themselves if they are unable to pick-up their trailer themselves.
If you live outside of the US, or even outside of a boundary that makes it reasonable to pick-up your trailer from Eugene, OR – then we typically help recommend third-party shipping services – like “UShip.com.”
*Third -party services will vary with their own regulations and fees when crossing international borders. This is something to investigate and consider before committing to an initial deposit on an Oregon Trail’R.
Whatever questions you may have about this process we would be glad to answer. >>> 541-357-8895
We’re located in Eugene, Oregon – off of West 11th Ave. Our warehouse space is towards the north side of the building in Unit J. Call us if you would like a tour or have trouble finding us. 541-357-8895
We typically only use a 5″ on 4.5″ for all of our DoDrop ALPHA, DoDrop and FronTear models. And we use a 6″ on 5.5″ pattern for our TerraDrop ALPHA and FronTear ALPHA models. If this is something that is really important to you, make sure to ask us after you’ve submitted your quote.
We currently do not offer in-house financing. A personal or vehicle loan through your bank or another lender would be your best bet.
We always ask for 45% down to begin building your trailer. At the end, usually during the pickup, or before the delivery, we require the remaining 55% to release the trailer.
If you’ve elected to have electric brakes installed on your trailer, you would indeed need 2 things to get them working properly;
– A Brake Controller (**This is installed into the tow vehicle**) (***This is not something we do. You will need to speak with a brake specialist***)
– A 7-blade Tow Connector. (***This is required to send power to the brakes and the reverse lights. Speak with your mechanic about installing a 7-blade tow connection if you do not currently have one and would like electric brakes on your trailer. It is required for the brakes to work.***)
While most people pick up their finished trailers in person, they can be shipped too. Clients arrange their own shipping. Most use www.uship.com, which makes it very easy to set up.
Currently, we don’t install any solar panels onto the bodies of our trailers. We think it’s more functional for the user to have a portable solar panel on hand that can be moved easily and track the sun. You can keep your trailer in the shade and keep your solar panel in the sun much easier than always repositioning your trailer. It’s a more affordable and functional way of doing things.
None of our current models are equipped with a bathroom. We’ve found it to be more functional and effective to keep a good deployable toilet-tent nearby.
Showers however are something we DO equip our models with. All of our Deluxe Packages include a 7-gallon Road Shower from Yakima. A very reliable, pressurized, aluminum bodied, heat-sensitive water source. Take a shower with warm water, spray off your dishes, and stay refreshed. It’s an easy way to make things even easier.

The DoDrop ALPHA Base model, without add-ons, starts at $13,250. If you throw everything at it, you can pretty much double the starting price.

Each trailer’s tongue weight will vary depending on the options it has. A consistent average for the DDA on the tongue is about 140-170lbs.
47 inches wide
38 inches high
78 inches long
- 68 inches wide
- 60 inches high
- 138 inches long
The DDA will sleep 2 adults comfortably. What we recommend for small families is to go with the Standard Roof Rack option with a roof top tent. We currently carry both CVT and iKamper tents. When a roof top tent is equipped onto a DDA roof rack, it functions wonderfully for a small family.
It’s the overland version of a tree house that you can bring camping. Pretty great.
Each trailer will vary in weight, depending on the options it has, but the dry GTW of a DoDrop ALPHA model is near 900-1000lbs.

This is why our DoDrop model is ideal for those with smaller, more compact vehicles.
Each trailer’s tongue weight can vary when all of the attachments and accessories are attached, but the nearest approximation is close to 125lbs.

TerraDrop ALPHA BASE configuration – $24,000
FronTear BASE configuration – $18,000
FronTear ALPHA BASE configuration – $24,000
***Most of our trailers, if equipped with ‘all the fixings’, usually average around double the starting price.***
AS MANY AS YOU WOULD LIKE!!

The one you speak to us about is the one we will keep on file for you. Until that happens, play around with the quote tool! (ps. We designed it for you) 🙂
We’ve been a long running partner of Lippert Components Incorporated for the manufacturing of our Custom Mattresses.
Sadly, No we will not.
We will gladly install them onto new Oregon Trailers that have ordered them.
But as far as pre-owned trailers go, it’s an endeavor that would take too much time away from the clients we have waiting for their new trailers.

FronTear FAQ
Currently, none of our models come equipped with a heater or an air-conditioner.
The insulation we use within the body of the trailer has a very good R-value to weight-ratio. In other words, our cabins stay very warm in the winter, and nice and cool in the summers, without weighing down the trailer. You’ll be surprised how comfortable the cabin can be with the natural heat of 1-2 people.
We would recommend getting a quality electric blanket that plugs into a duplex outlet (110v). 12V socket, or USB connection. .

It’s always possible, but the level of difficulty can vary dramatically for a variety of reasons. For more recently built models, you may have locator pockets built in, which make it relatively easy to retrofit. For other models it can be very challenging to get right.

Rental FAQ
We ask that you contact Oregon Trailer LLC first before proceeding. If you cannot do this, due to poor service or a dead phone battery, you may replace the wheel with the spare provided. The flat/damaged wheel must be stored / secured where the spare came from. Failure to return the flat/damaged wheel/tire will result in the full cost of replacing the damaged/flat wheel/tire. All charges from third-parties for changing the flat/damaged wheel/tire are the responsibility of the renter. See our full terms and conditions above for further clarification.
FYI- this almost never happens. Don’t panic. Call us. 541.357.8895
Our DoDrop is the only model with a 4-pin tow connector.
Our DoDrop ALPHA and TerraDrop ALPHA both use a 7-pin, or 7-blade, tow connection.
Do not hesitate to call us for clarification. 541.357.8895
Before you arrive for your pick-up, ensure that your vehicle has the right connection for the model you’ve booked. Otherwise, the lights and or brakes will not operate, and we legally cannot allow for trailers to leave our shop without a legal tow connection or without the signal lights operating. It is the responsibility of the renter to make sure that your tow connection will work with our trailers.
Currently, there is no restriction on the length of a trip.
We actually would be able to offer a discount for trips that are longer than 2-weeks.
